(a) Independent candidates for partisan office are nominated by filing a petition with the Secretary of State or the County Clerk not less than seventy (70) days before a General Election.
(b) The petition for nomination shall be approved by the appropriate filing office prior to collecting signatures and shall be in substantially the same form as found in W.S. 22-5-301. Petitions not approved shall be rejected.
