Current through Register Vol. XLI, No. 50, December 13, 2024
Section 42-13-2 - Intent of the safety glazing act
2.1. The intent of the legislation is to protect the consumer and encourage the highest standards of construction safety by requiring safety glazing materials in "Hazardous Locations" in residential, commercial or public buildings in which, historically, the use of ordinary annealed glass has been the cause of high incidence of accidental injuries and deaths resulting from people accidentally walking or running into or falling against and breaking through, the ordinary annealed glass.

The provisions of the legislature apply to those "Hazardous Locations" in new construction and those "Hazardous Locations" in existing construction when the glazing material is replaced.
