Section 296-800-28015 - Make sure electrical equipment used or located in wet or damp locations is designed for such use(1) You must make sure fixtures and receptacles located in wet or damp locations are approved for such use. They must be constructed or installed so that water cannot enter or accumulate in wireways, lampholders, or other electrical parts.(2) You must make sure cabinets, cutout boxes, fittings, boxes, and panelboard enclosures in damp or wet locations are: (a) Installed to prevent moisture or water from entering and accumulating inside.(b) Mounted so there is at least a 1/4 inch airspace between the enclosure and the wall or other supporting surface. Non-metallic enclosures may be installed on a concrete, masonry, tile, or similar surface without the airspace.(c) Weatherproof when used in wet locations. Switches, circuit breakers, and switchboards located in wet locations must be in weatherproof enclosures.
