Section 12VAC30-20-260 - Definition of specialized servicesThe Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) shall define specialized services for the purposes of preadmission screening and annual resident review as follows. The Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services shall ensure the provision of services when they are provided by a non-Medicaid-enrolled provider or when the services are not covered by Medicaid.
a. Partial hospitalizationb. Transportation to Medicaid-covered services or specialized services necessary to treat conditions of mental illness or mental retardationc. Day health and rehabilitationd. Psychosocial rehabilitationf. Customized durable medical equipment, for residents without a patient pay, that would allow the resident to participate in specialized servicesg. Behavior management interventions requiring ongoing consultation and monitoring by a licensed psychiatrist or psychologisth. One-to-one supervision necessary for behavior managementi. Vision and hearing needs related to mental illness or mental retardation for persons over age 21j. Dental needs resulting from mental illness or mental retardation sequela for persons over age 21l.
