Section 80 210 001 - PICK-SIX SWEEPSTAKES
Rule No.172.5 PICK-SIX SWEEPSTAKES (New)
(a) A Sweepstakes wager combines the winners of six consecutive races. All Sweepstakes wagers will be calculated in a pool which is entirely separate from all other wagering pools. "Sweepstakes" races shall mean the six consecutive races designated for the sweepstakes during one Racing Card on which that feature is operated. No Pick-Six Sweepstakes wagering shall be conducted without the permission of the Commission.
(b) The rules for Pick-Six Sweepstakes shall be noticed to the public as directed by the commission.
(c) Entries and Fields Entries and fields may race in Sweepstakes races. However, if any part of an entry or field is a starter in a race, the entry or field selection shall remain as the designated selection in that race and no refund or exchange of that ticket shall be permitted.
(d) Pool Calculations The Pick-Six Sweepstakes pari-mutuel pool shall be calculated as follows:
(i) Winner Pool -- The Net amount in the pool plus the net carry over pool, if any, shall be distributed equally to the holders of pari-mutuel tickets which correctly designate all the official winners of the Sweepstakes.
(ii) Carry-Over-Pool -- Where no tickets are sold which correctly designate all official winers [winners] of the Sweepstakes races, the net pool shall be carried over and added to the net pool of the next scheduled Sweepstakes feature operated by the organization Licensee.
(e) Dead Heats If there is dead heat for win between two or more horses/dogs in any Sweepstakes race, all horses/dogs in the dead heat for win shall be considered equally as the winner horse/dog in the race for the purpose of distributing the Sweepstakes pool.
(f) Sale of Tickets No Sweepstakes ticket shall be sold, exchanged or cancelled after the close of wagering on the first race of the Sweepstakes race.
(g) Cancellations
(i) One or Two: If one or two of the Sweepstakes races are cancelled or declared as no contest on any program, all horses in those races shall be considered winners for the purpose of distributing the Sweepstakes feature pool.
(ii) Three or More: If the Stewards/Judges cancel or declare as no contest three or more of the Sweepstakes races, the net amount in the Sweepstakes pool for that program shall be equally distributed to the holders of pari-mutuel tickets which correctly designate the most official winners of the Sweepstakes races. Any net carry over pool accrued from a previous Sweepstakes feature shall be further carried over to the next scheduled Sweepstakes feature operated by the Association.
(h) Disclosures: No person shall disclose the number of Sweepstakes tickets sold or the number or amount of tickets selecting winners of the Sweepstakes races prior to the time the Stewards/Judges have determined the last race comprising the Sweepstakes each to be official.
(i) Scratches: The cost of any ticket, designating as the selection to win in any one or more of the Sweepstakes races a single wagering interest which is scratched or excused by the Stewards/Judges or which is prevented from racing because of the failure of the stall doors or starting gate to open or which is otherwise determined to be a non-starter in the race for which selected and is coupled with the winners of all other races, shall be deducted from the pool established that day and refunded to the purchaser.
(j) Undistributed Sweepstakes Pool: when, for any reason a Sweepstakes pool remains undistributed and no further Sweepstakes are scheduled, the Association shall, with the approval of the Racing Commission, schedule another Sweepstakes.
