Section 748.1709 - What are the requirements for using a nasogastric tube to feed a child?(a) Only the following may insert a nasogastric tube:(2) A registered nurse according to a physician's written orders.(b) You must document each insertion in the child's record. The documentation for each insertion must include the: (1) Signature of the nurse who inserted the tube; and(2) Date of the insertion.(c) You must follow the physician's written orders concerning the tube.26 Tex.
