Section 1660-01-35-.02 - GENERAL RULES
(1) General rules for the use of Lake Halford
(a) The portion of the lake south of Tennessee Valley Authority power lines is designated as fishing only. Any vessel in this area must travel at no wake area speed.
(b) The boat ramp will open 30 minutes prior to sunrise and will close 30 minutes after sunset. The TWRA may change these times in certain circumstances for public safety. Boat operation 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise shall be at no wake area speed.
(c) Skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, or similar activities are prohibited inside of marker buoys for fishing, swimming, and no wake areas.
(d) The TWRA has the authority to close all or portions of the lake at its discretion.
(e) No person shall be under the influence or in the possession of any intoxicating beverages or drugs while on Lake Halford or adjacent TWRA property. Alcoholic beverages shall be limited to the designated camping location.
(f) The discharge of firearms or fireworks are prohibited.
(g) Hunting is prohibited on Lake Halford and adjacent TWRA property.
(h) Launching or retrieving of boats from any embankment or shore other than the main ramp is prohibited.
(i) Swimming is prohibited from fishing piers and platforms, marinas, courtesy docks, or around boat ramps.
(j) Vessels, as defined by Tenn. Code Ann. § 69-9-204, are prohibited in the swimming area.
(k) No person shall deface TWRA property, block access areas, cut trees, bushes, and shrubs or litter the area.
