Section 0450-03-.10 - SUPERVISION OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE (POST-ACADEMIC WORK)(1) This section shall govern the supervision of professional experience following the completion of all academic requirements for applicants by examination.(2) In order to document an applicant's qualifications as a clinical pastoral therapist and to meet standards comparable to those set by the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, the applicant shall present evidence at the time the application is submitted of supervision by an approved supervisor or supervision whose qualifications are equivalent to AAPC standards.(3) Equivalency shall be defined as including the following qualifications for the applicant's supervisor:(a) The supervisor shall have at least five (5) years of full-time experience as a clinical pastoral therapist;(b) The supervisor shall have at least two (2) years experience supervising clinical pastoral therapists; or(c) The supervisor shall have received at least 50 hours of supervision by an AAPC approved supervisor.(4) Conflict of interest supervision Supervision provided by the applicant's parents, spouse, former spouse, siblings, cousins, in-laws (present or former), aunts, uncles, grandparents, step-children, employees, or anyone sharing the same household, shall not be acceptable toward fulfillment of certification requirements. For the purpose of this rule, a supervisor shall not be considered an employee of the applicant if the only compensation received by the supervisor consists of payments for actual supervisory hours.
