Section 44:70:10:18 - Wall and ceiling finish

Walls shall be washable, and in the immediate area of plumbing fixtures the finish shall be protected from water damage. Wall bases in dietary areas shall be free of spaces that can harbor insects. Each dietary ceiling shall be washable or easily cleanable. This requirement does not apply to boiler rooms, mechanical and building equipment rooms, shops, and similar spaces.
