Prior to completion of the requirements of an alternative certificate, all endorsement requirements must be met before the endorsement may be added to the certificate.
Following completion of the alternative certification requirements, individuals who have moved to a standard, professional, or advanced certificate may add the following endorsement types:
(1) If the alternative certification was in a kindergarten through grade 12 endorsement area, endorsements may be added following the requirements for individuals with K-12 preparation;(2) If the alternative certification was in a grade five through 12 endorsement area, endorsements may be added following the requirements for individuals with a secondary preparation;(3) If the alternative certification was a standard CTE alternative certificate, the endorsements added may include: career pathway endorsement; education and training career cluster endorsement; or a law, public safety, security, and corrections career cluster endorsement.(4) If the alternative certificate was an advanced CTE alternative certificate, the endorsements added may include a career pathway endorsement or a career cluster endorsement.(5) If the administrator alternative certificate is for a school district superintendent, endorsements may be added following the requirements for individuals with a school superintendent preparation.(6) If the administrator alternative certificate is for a kindergarten through grade 12 principal, the endorsement may be added following the requirements for individuals with a kindergarten through grade 12 principal preparation.S.D.
