Section 250-RICR-120-05-24.6 - Notification Requirements
A. The following persons shall be notified in writing, by the person conducting the removal operation, at least five days prior to the beginning of any lead paint removal from the exterior surface of any structure:
1. Adults residing in the structure from which the lead paint is being removed and/or residing within 50 feet of the structure from which lead paint is being removed, and,
2. The owner, agent, and/or property manager of the structure from which the lead paint is being removed and/or of any building located within 50 feet of the structure from which lead paint is being removed, and,
3. The owner, agent or manager of any business or organization located in the structure from which the lead paint is being removed and/or within 50 feet of the structure from which lead paint is being removed, and,
4. The principal of every school and the chief administrative officer of every school within 50 feet of the structure from which lead paint is being removed.
B. The notification shall include, at a minimum, the following information:
1. The location of the structure from which the lead paint is to be removed,
2. The expected start and completion dates for the lead paint removal project,
3. The lead paint removal procedure to be used, and,
4. The name, address and telephone number of the individual or company responsible for the lead paint removal.
C. In addition, the notification shall include the following statement: "The paint which will be removed from this structure contains lead. Exposure to lead is unhealthful, particularly to young children. Contact the Department of Environmental Management, Office of Air Resources, at 222-2808 for more information."
D. Any and all parties identified in § 24.6(A) of this Part must be notified in writing of any changes in the information included in the original notice.
