(a) The Board administers the act by promulgating rules and regulations which establish standards for practical nursing programs and the conduct of programs.(b) The Board provides for licensure of graduate practical nurses from approved programs by examination, by endorsement and by programs renewal of licenses.(c) The Board may impose disciplinary sanctions and assess civil penalties for cause.(d) The Board may approve practical nursing education programs conducted in hospitals and accredited community colleges, universities and postsecondary institutions that award academic degrees and public school districts and vocational education programs under the Department of Education, and will make available a list of approved practical nursing education programs on its web site.(e) The Board will regulate the practice of practical nursing.The provisions of this §21.142 amended July 1, 1983, effective 7/2/1983, 13 Pa.B. 2061; amended December 16, 2016, effective 12/17/2016, 46 Pa.B. 7822.The provisions of this §21.142 amended under section 506 of The Administrative Code of 1929 (71 P.S. § 186); and sections 8 and 17.6 of the Practical Nurse Law (63 P.S. §§ 658 and 667.6).
