Section 333-122-0230 - General Requirements for All RGD: Inspection and Maintenance of RGD X-ray Machines, Associated Equipment, and Survey Instruments

(1) The registrant must perform visual and operability checks on survey meters, radiation machines and associated equipment before each day's use, or work shift, to ensure that the equipment is in good working condition.

(2) Survey instrument operability must be performed using check sources or other appropriate means.

(3) If equipment problems are found, the equipment must be removed from service until repaired.

(4) Each registrant must have written procedures to perform inspections and routine maintenance of:

(a) RGD X-ray equipment;

(b) Associated equipment; and

(c) Survey instruments.

(5) Inspections and maintenance must not exceed intervals of six months or before the first use thereafter to ensure the proper functioning of components important to safety.

(6) Records of equipment problems and of any maintenance performed under this rule must be made in accordance with OAR 333-122-0240.
