Section 800:25-5-64 - Application process

The application process for hunting at the Washita National Wildlife Refuge will be as follows:

(1) One hunter, who must be at least 18 years of age, may apply for a blind. Successful applicants may then bring two hunting companions of their choice. These companions may or may not be the same for the Saturday and Sunday morning hunts. Applications for the hunt may be on regular stationary or on forms available from the refuge office. Applications must contain the following data: Hunter's name, mailing address, telephone number, birthdate, current hunting license number, first choice hunt dates and second choice of hunt dates. Successful applicants will be required to pay a hunt fee which must be received by the refuge office prior to their hunt date.
(2) No hunter may participate in more than one weekend hunt. Incomplete applications including those with no choice of dates will be disallowed. Applications should be brought to the refuge office (located 5 miles West and 1 1/2 miles North of Butler; office hours 7:30-4:00 Monday-Friday or mailed to: Washita NWR, RR #1, Box 68, Butler, Oklahoma 73625.
(3) Application and notification dates will be determined annually by refuge. Application instructions will be printed in waterfowl regulations brochure. Any person submitting more than one application will be disqualified.

1This emergency action expired without being superseded by a permanent action. Upon expiration of an emergency amendatory action, the last prior permanent text is reinstated. Therefore, on 7-15-96 (after the 7-14-96 expiration of the emergency action), the text of Section 800:25-5-64 reverted back to the permanent text that became effective 7-25-94, and remained as such until amended by permanent action on 8-26-96.
