Section 565:1-1-2 - Organization(a) Board. The Oklahoma Board of Private Vocational Schools (OBPVS) is the governing agency and administrative authority for the enforcement of the laws governing licensing and regulating of private vocational schools. The statutory authority for the Board is 70 O.S. § 21-102(b) Board staff. The Board is authorized to appoint and fix the compensation of a Director. The Director shall employ and fix the duties and compensation of such clerical or other assistants as are reasonably necessary to effectuate the provisions of the OBPVS' duties. Because the Board is the final administrative authority for the administration of the law, such administrative responsibilities necessary to carry out the duties of the Board may be assigned to the Director. However, the Board shall be consulted and advised on a continuous basis by the Director on matters relating to the administration of the law. The Board shall act in formal session on matters involving the administration of the law at such times as the Board and the Director may decide the gravity of a situation requires such action.Okla.
