Okla. Admin. Code § 1:1991-10
WHEREAS, the productivity and economic health of the State of Oklahoma is dependent on the health and productivity of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the State has a strong and continuing interest in promoting a better quality of life for all of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, developing physical fitness through participation in sports is a critical element in a healthy productive life style; and
WHEREAS, the State of Oklahoma has a long and proud history in the arena of sports; and
WHEREAS, the promotion of sports and other physical fitness activities contributes to the health, well being and productivity of the State as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the coordination of promotional and educational activities related to sport and physical fitness in Oklahoma is critical to the success of this endeavor,
NOW, THEREFORE, by the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and Laws of the State of Oklahoma, I HEREBY ORDER,
That there be created the GOVERNOR'S COUNCIL ON PHYSICAL FITNESS AND SPORTS; and
That this council shall consist of between ten and twenty members to be appointed by the Governor; and
That the Governor shall designate from the appointed members a Chairman and President; and
That all existing bylaws of the previously constituted Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, including those establishing the affiliate not-for-profit corporation which acts to promote the objectives of the Council and this Order be continued in full force during my administration and future administrations; and
That the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports shall assist in and coordinate the sports and fitness activities of existing companies and agencies including cooperation with the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Oklahoma to be affixed at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma this 14 day of June, 1991.
