A private funeral will be required only under unusual circumstances, such as when a death caused by a communicable disease which the spread can be controlled by immunization occurs in a family which is a member of a group whose beliefs are opposed to immunizations, and thus the danger of spread of disease at the funeral from unimmunized members. The decision shall be made by the local health officer. This in no way precludes other private funerals upon the wish of the family.
