N.Y. Comp. Codes R. & Regs. tit. 20 § 475.2

Current through Register Vol. 46, No. 50, December 11, 2024
Section 475.2 - Effect of suspension or revocation of permits

Tax Law, § 502

(a) Whenever a permit is suspended or revoked, the plate or sticker issued for the motor vehicle is also suspended or revoked and both the permit and plate or sticker must be surrendered immediately to the State Tax Commission upon receipt of the order of suspension or revocation. Thereafter the motor vehicle cannot be operated on the public highways of this State.
(b) The suspension or revocation of a permit automatically results in the suspension or revocation of all permits and plates and stickers issued to the carrier under this statute, unless the commission in its order specifies otherwise. Accordingly, upon suspension or revocation of a permit all the permits and plates and stickers issued to the carrier for all motor vehicles must be surrendered immediately to the commission and such vehicles cannot be operated on the public highways of this State.
(c) If the permit of any motor vehicle registered in this State has been suspended or revoked, the Department of Motor Vehicles will not thereafter re-register the motor vehicle or transfer the registration of ownership, until the commission issues to the department a certificate to the effect that such person has fully complied with the provisions of article 21 of the Tax Law.
