Section 8.370.19.23 - ARRANGEMENTS FOR SERVICESA hospice may arrange for another individual or entity to furnish services to the hospice's patients. Services provided under arrangement must meet the following standards:
A. The hospice shall have a written agreement for the provision of such services.B. The hospice ensures that inpatient care is furnished only in a facility licensed as a hospital, skilled nursing facility (nursing home), or intermediate care facility. For inpatient care furnished under arrangements, the hospice must have an arrangement under which:(1) The hospice furnished to the inpatient provider, a copy of the individual's plan of care that specified the care that has been furnished.(2) The regimen described in the established plan of care is continued while the individual receives care from the inpatient provider.(3) All inpatient services and events (e.g. treatments, tests, consultations, evaluations, etc.) furnished by the inpatient provider are entered in the hospice's medical record.(4) The interdisciplinary team reviews the medical record to ensure conformance with the established plan of care.(5) A copy of the inpatient medical record and discharge summary is retained as part of the hospice medical record.N.M.
