Section 16.39.2.7 - DEFINITIONSA. Professional development hour (PDH) - a contact hour (nominal) of instruction or presentation. The PDH is the common denominator for other units of credit.B. Continuing education unit (CEU) - unit of credit customarily used for continuing education courses. One continuing education unit equals 10 contact hours in approved continuing education course.C. College/unit semester/quarter hour - credit for course in ABET approved programs or other related college course approved in accordance with Subsection E of 16.39.2.8 NMAC.D. Course/activity - any qualifying course or activity with a clear purpose and objective that will maintain, improve, or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to the licensee's field of practice. Regular duties are not considered qualified activities.E. Dual licensee - a person who is licensed as both a professional engineer and a professional surveyor.F. Ethics /business-related course or activity - any qualifying course or activity with content areas related to: (1) the awareness of ethical concerns and conflicts;(2) an enhanced familiarity with the codes of conduct;(3) an understanding of standards of practice or care; or(4) project management and risk-assessment management.N.M.
