Section 18:17A-1.7 - Assistant deputy county assessor qualifications
(a) An assistant deputy county assessor must have been a municipal tax or municipal deputy assessor who was in office as of August 18, 2009, the date the Act was enacted or obtained a tax assessor certificate immediately prior to the appointment of the first county assessor.
(b) After the initial term, any appointment made to this position requires three years of experience as a municipal tax assessor or deputy tax assessor or any combination thereof.
(c) An assistant deputy county assessor must possess a valid tax assessor certificate upon appointment and during his or her term of office in accordance with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 54:1-35.25 and N.J.A.C. 18:17.
(d) The assistant deputy county tax assessor's continued certification as a tax assessor shall be governed by the requirements of N.J.S.A. 54:1-35.25b et seq., and N.J.A.C. 18:17.
