Section Mirt 501.02 - Obligation to Observe Ethical Principles

Licensees shall observe the following ethical principles:

(a) Limited x-ray machine operators shall comply with the "ARRT Standards of Ethics," effective September 1, 2017, https://www.arrt.org/docs/default-source/Governing-Documents/arrt-standards-of-ethics.pdf?sfvrsn=12, available as noted in Appendix II;

(b) Magnetic resonance technologists shall comply with the following codes of ethics, as appropriate:

(1) If certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the "ARRT Standards of Ethics," effective September 1, 2017, https://www.arrt.org/docs/default-source/Governing-Documents/arrt-standards-of-ethics.pdf?sfvrsn=12, available as noted in Appendix II; or

(2) If certified by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists, the "ARMRIT Code of Ethics", (as accessed and printed on April 25, 2018), http://www.armrit.org/pdf/Code_of_Ethics1.pdf, available as noted in Appendix II;

(c) Nuclear medicine technologists shall comply with lines 98-137 of the "Nuclear Medicine Code of Ethics," published June 2017 by the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technologist Section, http://www.snmmi.org/ClinicalPractice/content.aspx?ItemNumber=5532, available as noted in Appendix II;

(d) Radiation therapists shall comply with the "ARRT Standards of Ethics," effective September 1, 2017, https://www.arrt.org/docs/default-source/Governing-Documents/arrt-standards-of-ethics.pdf?sfvrsn=12, available as noted in Appendix II;

(e) Radiographers shall comply with the following codes of ethics, as appropriate:

(1) If certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the "ARRT Standards of Ethics," effective September 1, 2017, https://www.arrt.org/docs/default-source/Governing-Documents/arrt-standards-of-ethics.pdf?sfvrsn=12, available as noted in Appendix II; or

(2) If certified by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), the CCI "Code of Ethics", as published July 27, 2017, www.cci-online.org/content/code-of-ethics, available as noted in Appendix II.

(f) Radiologist assistants shall comply with the "ARRT Standards of Ethics," effective September 1, 2017, https://www.arrt.org/docs/default-source/Governing-Documents/arrt-standards-of-ethics.pdf?sfvrsn=12, available as noted in Appendix II; and

(g) Sonographers shall comply with the following codes of ethics, as appropriate:

(1) If certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography's "Code of Ethics for the Profession of Diagnostic Medical Sonography," as reapproved by the board of directors of the Society for Diagnostic Medical Sonography February 8, 2017, http://www.sdms.org/about/who-we-are/code-of-ethics, available as noted in Appendix II;

(2) If certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the "ARRT Standards of Ethics," effective September 1, 2017, https://www.arrt.org/docs/default-source/Governing-Documents/arrt-standards-of-ethics.pdf?sfvrsn=12, available as noted in Appendix II; or

(3) If certified by Cardiovascular Credentialing International, the CCI "Code of Ethics", effective July 27, 2017, www.cci-online.org/content/code-of-ethics, available as noted in Appendix II.
