Section 687B.066 - Provision for reinstatement in event of lapse of coverage1. A long-term care insurance contract or certificate must include a provision which provides that, in the event of a lapse in coverage, coverage will be reinstated if: (a) The insured provides proof of cognitive impairment or loss of functional capacity before the grace period contained in the long-term care insurance contract or certificate expires;(b) The insured requests reinstatement of coverage within 5 months of the date of termination of coverage; and(c) The insured pays any premiums which are past due.2. For the purposes of subsection 1, the standard of proof of cognitive impairment or loss of functional capacity must not be more stringent than any criteria regarding cognitive impairment or loss of functional capacity used in the long-term care insurance contract or certificate to determine eligibility for benefits.Nev.
