Section 522.185 - Protection of fresh water1. Fresh water must be protected from pollution, whether in drilling, plugging or producing oil or gas, or in disposing of salt water already produced.2. Oil or gas wells and wells drilled for exploratory purposes are governed by the provisions of this chapter which pertain to the drilling, safety, casing, production, abandoning and plugging of wells. All operations must be carried on so as to prevent pollution of any stream or other watercourse of this state, or of any subsurface water, as the result of the escape, release or injection of oil, gas or salt water from any well.Nev.
