Section 445A.9628 - Request to alter design or increase capacity of existing system; request for extension of time to complete construction; issuance of new general permit upon completion of construction1. A person shall not alter the design or increase the capacity of an existing on-site sewage disposal system without first obtaining a letter of approval from the Division or other administrative authority. The owner or operator must submit for approval: (a) A statement justifying the alteration or increase, including, without limitation, any historical data indicating water meter readings or occupancy loads or other data requiring a change in the flow or design of the existing system; and(b) If a new or altered treatment unit or effluent absorption area is proposed, the design specifications of the proposed system as required pursuant to NAC 445A.9614. The design specifications must bear the signature and original stamp of a design engineer.2. The on-site sewage disposal system may continue operation under an existing general permit during construction for a period of 1 year or until construction is completed, whichever is less. If construction is not completed within 1 year, the holder of the general permit may request an extension in writing, which may be granted in increments of not more than 1 year by the Division or other administrative authority.3. Upon completion of the construction, a new general permit must be issued by the Division or other administrative authority if the construction meets the requirements of NAC 445A.950 to 445A.9706, inclusive.Nev.
