Rule 24.40.841 - INACTIVE CLAIMS-REACTIVATING A CLAIM(1) A claim for benefits becomes inactive if a claimant does not request benefit payments for four consecutive weeks. If a claim remains inactive after the end of the claim's benefit year, the claimant must file a new claim for benefits. (2) A claimant may reactivate a claim during the claim's benefit year by:(a) calling the department and requesting that the claim be reactivated; or(b) accessing the department's online portal and following the instructions to reactivate the claim.(3) To reactivate a claim, a claimant must provide any information relevant to claim qualifications or eligibility, including any separation from insured employment.(4) A reactivated claim is effective on the Sunday of the calendar week in which the claimant reactivates the claim.(5) The department may backdate a reactivated claim if the claimant shows good cause for the delay in reactivating the claim.Mont.
