Rule 7-3-17.7 - Family Day Care1. The MDE shall: a. Develop readiness training for Day Care Home Sponsors for children ages 0-4i. Train sponsors on readiness for 0-4 years oldii. Provide training to sponsor representatives on use of readiness training programiii. How to present readiness trainingiv. Utilization/effectiveness checklistb. Family Day Care Home Sponsors shall: i. Attend training provided by MDE on readinessii. Adopt and implement readiness training in every family day care home under sponsorshipiii. Annually train all providers on readinessiv. Train new family day care home providers prior to approvalv. Employ a childcare director who is at least 21 years of age with a minimum of two years' experience as director or caregivervi. Establish a referral program for low literacy providersc. Family Day Care Home Providers shall: i. Attend annual training on the readiness as a condition of approvalii. Implement training in the family childcare settingiii. Involve parents in training, send/handout progress reports home with childrend. Parents shall: i. Reinforce training by using materials sent home with childrene. Sponsoring organizations shall implement in all homes under sponsorship by October 1, 2000 and each year thereafter.Miss.
