Rule 26-2-1.10 - SEALING OFF STRATA(a) No stratum upon being penetrated shall be drilled or left open, except at the direction of the Supervisor, without the application of mud-laden fluid or other means to prevent the escape of oil or gas while further drilling in or through such stratum.(b) All fresh waters and waters of present or probable future value for domestic, commercial, or stock purposes shall be confined to their respective strata and shall be adequately protected.(c) Before any oil or gas well is completed as a producer, all oil, gas and water strata above and below the producing horizon shall be sealed or separated in order to prevent their contents from passing into other strata.MCA Section 53-1-17(3) (1972)
