On and after October 1, 1998, no pits will be dug for the normal disposal of dead commercial poultry in Mississippi. Any pit in use on October 1, 1998, will continue to be used until it becomes filled. When another approved method of disposal has become available, pits may no longer be used,. All remaining pits shall be filled in per Board of Animal Health instructions.
