In order to minimize spray drift via the wingtip/rotortip vortex, the distance between the outermost nozzles shall not exceed seventy percent (70%) of the wingspan/rotorspan, except for aircraft equipped for standard mosquito control applications and helicopters equipped with nozzles delivering sprays with a 750 micron or larger volume median diameter according to the USDA ARS College Station, TX models, or data from nozzle manufacturers.
