Rule 18-14-6.6 - Determining Good CauseA. Good cause must be determined if the household is unable to provide an SSN or proof of application at its next recertification or 6 months following the child's birth.B. Good cause is determined using documentary evidence or collateral contacts showing the household applied for or made every effort to supply the necessary information to complete an application for an SSN.C. This information may come from any of the following: 2. Social Security Administration; orD. Because SSA allows mail-in SSN applications in lieu of applying in person, good cause does not include delays caused by:2. Lack of transportation; or3. Temporary absences from the home.
