Section R. 408.15756 - Wire line operationsRule 5756.
(1) When handling a wire line that recoils when extended, the loose end shall not be left unsecured.(2) If slack line occurs while tools are in the hole, the wire line shall be clamped off at the wellhead before working with the loose line. The clamp shall be tied off with a chain or soft-laid cable with sufficient strength to withstand any load to which it may be subjected.
(3) Hands, rags, and other objects shall be kept clear of sheave wheels while the line is in motion.(4) A mast or gin pole truck used in wire line operations shall not be moved from one location to another nor driven on public roads with the mast or pole in a vertical or semivertical position.(5) A gin pole mounted on a truck shall be securely fastened when the poles are in a vertical or semivertical position.Mich.
