(1) "Die-enclosure guard" means an enclosure attached to the die shoe, punch shoe or bolster, and fixed in position.(2) "Die set" means a unit consisting of a lower die shoe and an upper die shoe or punch holder. It is essentially a tool holder held in correct alignment by heel blocks, guide pins or posts, and bushings.(3) "Die-setting" means the process of placing dies in, or removing dies from, a hydraulic press, and the process of adjusting dies, other tooling, and safeguarding means to cause them to function properly and safely.(4) "Die shoe" means a plate or block on which die sections and details are mounted. A die shoe functions primarily as a base for the complete die assembly, and, when used, is bolted or clamped to the bolster plate or slide.Mich. Admin. Code R. 408.12305
