Section I-901 - Purpose and ScopeA. It is the policy of DHHR that every reasonable effort shall be made to locate and notify promptly the next of kin (or guardian/custodian) of any patient/client who dies in a DHHR institution or facility. Written procedures shall be adopted in every institution or facility for the notification of next of kin to minimize any emotional stress or undue hardship in the event of the death of patient/client.La.
