Section LXXXVI-301 - OfficersA. The board shall elect from its membership a chairman, vice-chairman, and secretary. The chairman shall preside at all meetings at which he or she is in attendance and perform all duties prescribed by Chapter 53 of Title 37 (R.S. 37:3441-3452 and R.S. 36:478.I) and the board. The chairman is authorized by the board to make day-to-day decisions regarding board activities to facilitate the responsiveness and effectiveness of the board. The vice-chairman shall perform the duties of the chairman in case of absence or disability of the chairman. In the event the office of chairman becomes vacant, the vice-chairman shall serve as chairman until a successor is named. In the absence of the chairman and vice-chairman, the secretary will preside until the chairman or vice-chairman is present. The secretary shall keep the minutes of board meetings and send said minutes to board members and clerical secretary of the board before each regular meeting of the board.La. Admin.
