Section 30-60-72 - Acute care services

If a center provides, directly or through a contractor, services consisting of inpatient care and treatment that is more intensive than outpatient treatment, in a facility or unit that is separately licensed by this department as a psychiatric hospital or by the Kansas department of health and environment as a general hospital, but that is operated by the licensee, these services shall meet the following conditions:

(a) Be provided in the least restrictive manner appropriate, following generally accepted clinical standards of practice;
(b) provide both medical and nursing services as each consumer's care requires;
(c) be provided by appropriately trained or professionally qualified staff; and
(d) be administered in accordance with written policies and procedures adopted by the licensee.
