Section 30-5-107a - Reimbursement for non-emergency medical transportation services(a) Non-commercial, non-emergency medical transportation providers shall be paid 22 cents per mile. (b) Each commercial, non-emergency medical transportation provider shall be reimbursed at one of the following rates: (1) For level one general transportation, $10.00 for each one-way trip to a medicaid-covered service for a medicaid beneficiary, plus $1.00 per mile after 10 miles; or (2) for level two transportation for a non-ambulatory medicaid beneficiary, transportation of medical equipment with a medicaid beneficiary, or transportation of a medicaid beneficiary following a treatment that will result in a disabling physical condition, $20.00 for each one-way trip to a medicaid-covered service for a medicaid beneficiary plus $1.00 per mile after 10 miles. (c) Reimbursement for necessary meals and lodging may be allowed for Kan Be Healthy participants and one attendant, subject to prior authorization.
