Section 128-2-9 - Referee(a) Each applicant seeking a referee's license from the commission shall meet all of the following requirements, in addition to the requirements specified in K.A.R. 128-2-1: (1) Certify in writing that the applicant has read and understands the act and these regulations;(2) provide evidence that the applicant has at least four years of experience refereeing amateur contests and two years of experience refereeing professional contests;(3) provide the following: (A) Certification of competency from two individuals with personal knowledge of the applicant's qualifications to referee; and(B) certification that the applicant is in good standing in any other jurisdiction in which the applicant holds a license and has a record of past performance of competent work;(4) for each applicant seeking a license to referee boxing contests, be certified by the association of boxing commissioners within two years after the issuance of the license;(5) submit written certification from a physician stating that the applicant has undergone a physical examination from the physician and certifying that the applicant is physically able to perform the duties of a referee. The certification shall be completed on a form provided by the commission. The form shall include an acknowledgment from the examining physician that the physician understands and certifies that the applicant is physically able to referee a regulated sports contest; and(6) pay the applicable fee specified in K.A.R. 128-2-12.(b) For each regulated sport for which the applicant intends to act as a referee, the applicant shall complete a separate application and submit the application and applicable fee to the commission.Kan.
