Rule 650-27.3 - Emergency service

Emergency services in dentistry are deemed to be those services necessary for the relief of pain or to thwart infection and prevent its spread.

(1) Dentists shall make reasonable arrangements for the emergency care of their patients of record.

(2) Dentists shall, when consulted in an emergency by patients not of record, make reasonable arrangements for emergency care.
