The authority to invest in subsidiaries under Iowa Code section 521A2(3). is in addition to any authority to invest in subsidiaries which may be contained in any other provision of the insurance code.
An investment by a subsidiary under Iowa Code section 52IA.2(3) "c" may cause the total investment of the insurer to exceed any of the limitations contained in any of the individual Iowa Code provisions referred to in section 52IA.2(3) "c" provided that it does not exceed the aggregate amount which could be invested under all of those provisions with respect to the type of asset involved.
