Rule 191-77.8 - Examination

(1) Each MEWA shall be subject to examination by the commissioner in accordance with Iowa Code chapter 507. Chapter 507 shall govern all aspects of the examination.

(2) The commissioner may make an examination of a MEWA as often as the commissioner considers it necessary, but not less frequently than once every five years. The expenses of the examination shall be assessed against the MEWA being examined in a manner in which expenses of examinations are assessed against an insurance company under Iowa Code chapter 507.

This rule is intended to implement Iowa Code section 507A.4.
