Sec. 1.
(a) The following definitions apply only to amateur mixed martial arts conducted under IC 4-33-22-18.(b) "Event" means: (1) a professional-amateur mixed martial arts; or(2) an amateur mixed martial arts; match, contest, exhibition, or performance.(c) "Event physician" means an individual licensed as a physician under IC 25-22.5 who has been: (1) retained by a promoter; and(2) approved by the sanctioning body; to serve as the physician at an event.
(d) "Officials" means the judges, referees, and timekeepers serving in an official capacity during an event.(e) "Sanctioning body" means a company licensed by the commission, the executive director, or the executive director's designee under IC 4-33-22-18 and this rule, and selected by a promoter, to provide oversight of: (1) the amateur mixed martial arts bouts at a professional-amateur mixed martial arts event; or(2) an amateur mixed martial arts event.(f) "Unified Amateur Rules" means the rules for amateur mixed martial arts adopted by the Association of Boxing Commissions on August 3, 2011, which is hereby incorporated by reference.
