Sec. 97.
(a) Caregivers shall do all toilet training with the parent's knowledge and consent.(b) Caregivers shall make a reasonable effort to be consistent with the parent's toilet training methods and communicate regularly on the progress and child's successes.(c) When children reach an age where they feel confident and unafraid to sit on a training seat, caregivers shall invite them to use the toilet, help them as needed, and positively reinforce their behavior regardless of the outcome.(d) Caregivers shall never force a child to remain on the toilet.(e) Caregivers shall never discipline, scold, shame, or humiliate a child for failure to conform or for wet or soiled clothing.(f) Caregivers shall assure that a supply of clean clothing is available to keep children dry, clean, and fully clothed during the training process.(g) The center shall provide a toilet with a training seat or a child-sized toilet.(h) Potty chairs may not be used.(i) Children and staff shall wash their hands with soap and warm running water and dry them with a disposable towel after each toileting usage.Division of Family Resources; 470 IAC 3-4.7-97; filed Aug 11, 2003, 3:00 p.m.: 27 IR 147; readopted filed Oct 24, 2007, 11:25 a.m.: 20071121-IR-470070448RFA; readopted filed Aug 23, 2013, 3:36 p.m.: 20130918-IR-470130306RFAReadopted filed 11/13/2019, 11:56 a.m.: 20191211-IR-470190490RFA
