a) Permits may be issued for overweight vehicles and objects if they have been reasonably disassembled [625 ILCS 5/15-301 ] and the highway system can carry the weight. Overweight moves may consist of only a single object. Overweight equipment may be moved with normal components attached.b) The Permit Office may require verification of the weight of the vehicle and load prior to issuing a permit when there is reason to believe the requested weight is incorrect. Permits are required for any overweight movement to or from a weigh scale over State highways for preliminary weighing of the vehicle and load.Ill. Admin. Code tit. 92, § 554.601
