Section 244.164 - Criteria for Declaring a Red AlertThe Director or his designated representative shall declare a red alert whenever:
a) Any red alert level is equaled or exceeded or any yellow alert level has been equaled or exceeded continuously for the proceding 24 hour period at any monitoring station; andb) A yellow alert has been in effect for 4 hours in the area for which the red alert is to be declared; andc) Atmospheric conditions, or expected contaminant emissions, are such that concentrations can reasonably be expected to persist for 12 or more hours; ord) For ozone, atmoshperic condtions, or expected contaminant emissions, are such that concentrations can reasonably be expected to reoccur at a red alert level on the following calendar day.Ill.
