Section 16.03.14.530 - MAINTENANCE AND SAFETYThe hospital shall be equipped and maintained to protect the health and safety of the patient, personnel, and visitors.
01.Maintenance. The hospital shall have a written preventive maintenance program to include at least the following elements:a. Designation of person responsible for maintaining the hospital; andb. Written preventive maintenance procedure and appropriate inspection interval shall be made for at least the following: ii. Air conditioning/mechanical systems; andiii. Electrical systems; andiv. Vacuum systems and gas systems; andv. All air filters in heating, air conditioning and ventilating systems; andvi. Equipment related directly and indirectly to patient care, and any other equipment.02.Safety. The hospital shall have a safety committee and shall be responsible for at least the following: a. There shall be comprehensive written safety procedures for all areas of the hospital that shall include the safe use of equipment and handling of patients; andb. Safety orientation of new employees; andc. Establishment of an incident/accident system for all patients, personnel and visitors, to include: i. Reporting procedure; andii.
