Those surgical procedures identified by the Medicare program as appropriately and safely performed in an ASC will be reimbursed by the Department. In addition, the Department may add surgical procedures to the list developed by the Medicare program as required by 42 CFR 416.164 if the procedures meet the criteria identified in 42 CFR 416.166.
