Section 11-100.1-12 - Emergency care of residents and disaster preparedness(a) The licensee shall maintain written procedures to follow in an emergency which shall include provisions for the following: (1) Arranging for immediate transfer or evaluation by a physician for any resident who becomes acutely ill, injured, or dies;(2) Arranging for transfer or placement of a resident at an emergency shelter or crisis response unit, as appropriate; and(3) Response to disasters which would include evacuation, emergency shelters, and food supply, and as directed by the Civil Defense.(b) The licensee shall maintain a first aid kit for emergency use for each Type I ARCH.(c) The licensee shall conduct regular quarterly rehearsals of emergency evacuation plans for staff and residents to follow in case of fire, explosion, or other civil emergency occurring in or within the environs of the facility.(d) Records of disaster evacuation and safety drills shall be available for inspection by the department.Haw.
