Each person seeking admission to the schools and programs of the D.C. Public Schools must satisfactorily meet all residency, academic, age, immunization, tuition, and other eligibility prerequisites for the school or program to which the person seeks admission as set forth in the Code of Laws of the District of Columbia and the rules of the Board of Education.

An adult student who is a resident of the District of Columbia shall be eligible for free instruction in the schools and programs of the D.C. Public Schools for which the student meets all other criteria and prerequisites for admission.

No student shall be denied admission to the D.C. Public Schools by reason of the student's race, color, religion, national origin, citizenship status, sex, marital status, personal appearance, sexual orientation, family responsibilities, political affiliation, handicapping condition, or any other basis of unlawful discrimination under the laws of the District of Columbia.
A pregnant student who is otherwise eligible for admission to the D.C. Public Schools shall not be denied admission because of the pregnancy; provided, that eligibility for participation in physical education or other activities may be conditioned upon certification by a physician that the student is physically able to participate in the activity.
