The purpose of the Career Mobility Action Plan Program ("Career MAP" or "Program") is to stabilize District households transitioning from receiving public assistance to supporting themselves with earned income. Career MAP provides support services, housing subsidies, and other financial assistance to partially offset increased financial responsibilities that result from losing eligibility for other benefit programs.
The provisions of this chapter describe the Career MAP eligibility criteria; application and selection process; eligibility verification and enrollment process; support services; unit selection and changes; sanctions and program termination; and program exits.
Nothing in these rules shall be interpreted to mean that Career MAP is an entitlement program. The Program shall be available only to a limited number of participants, based on funding availability and capacity.
Career MAP is a time-limited program in which support services are provided for no more than five (5) years from the date of household enrollment.
